Inga Sauer

Working Group Leader, Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research

In 2019, Inga completed her Master’s Degree in Sustainability Science and Technology at the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC) in Barcelona, working on institutional barriers for climate change adaptation in coastal management. During her PhD studies at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) and the ETH Zurich she worked on the socio-economic dimension of weather extremes, analyzing direct damage and distributional effects of disasters and their attribution to climate change. Since 2024, she co-leads the group Data-centric modeling of cross-sectoral impacts focusing on climate impact attribution.

In TipESM, Inga’s work is embedded in WP6 on tipping points in ecosystems and social systems. She aims to analyze potential tipping points in socio-economic systems caused by consecutive events, applying agent-based modeling.
